Exploring The USA

WELCOME TO USA (May 16,2010-May 22,2010)
Mickey Mouse, Miami Vice, Sleepless in Seattle... thanks to cinema and TV we all have impressions of the United States of America.
Yet nothing can prepare you for your first glimpse of Manhattan's unforgettable skyline, your first ride in a yellow cab, the ubiquitous hamburger joints, and the vast expanses of prairie, the sweet strains of New Orleans jazz or the neon-lit excesses of Las Vegas. The USA is a huge country to explore, with 50 states to choose from, flanked by two oceans and covering an incredibly varied terrain. For five centuries, since the 'New World' discoveries of Christopher Columbus, people from every corner of the globe have come here in search of 'the American Dream'. Between them, they have created the richest, most powerful country on earth, and a fascinating melting pot of cultures and traditions.
Vast plains, snow-covered mountain ranges, forested rolling hills, deserts, strange rock formations, soaring skyscrapers, stunning coastlines, impressive national parks and a thriving cultural scene; the USA has it all, plus some.

What exactly is S.SB? It is Sunless Sunbathing, a practical alternative to tanning. Don't want to expose your skin to the sun's damaging rays, but don't want to miss out on that glow? Start by understanding how sunless tanning products work along with the importance of applying them correctly and carefully.

What about S. SB Pills?
Sunless Sunbathing pills, which typically contain the color additive canthaxanthin, are UNSAFE!!!!. When taken in large amounts, canthaxanthin can turn your skin orange and cause hives. Sunless Sunbathing pills can also cause liver damage and lead to the formation of crystals in the retina of the eye (canthaxanthin retinopathy).
What’s the best way to promote an even-looking Tan with S.SB products?
S.SB products can provide an even, natural-looking tan if they're applied correctly and carefully. For best results, follow the package directions carefully. See Figure (1.1) tanning moisturizers and more.
Exfoliate first: Before using a S.SB product, wash your skin with a washcloth or sponge to remove excess dead skin cells. If you typically shave your legs, do so before you apply the S.SB product for an even application.
Use a light touch. Apply the S.SB product evenly and lightly. Use sparingly on dry or thickened skin, such as over your ankles, knees and elbows. If necessary, ask someone to help you apply the tanner to hard-to-reach spots.
Save the tops of your hands for last. After you apply the product to your face and body, wash your hands with soap and water to avoid coloring your palms. Be sure to remove any product from under your fingernails. Then use a cotton ball to apply the sunless tanner to the top of each hand.
Take time to dry. Wait to dress until the S.SB dries completely.
Remember, most S.SB products don't contain sunscreen. If you spend time outdoors, protect your skin with generous amounts of sunscreen. Happy Tanning Everyone!

Something Borrowed: Colonial Redux
(Interior Design by: Joseph Allen May22,2010)
The wonderful furniture retailer, Ethan Allen, has taken a nod towards Colonial America in one of their furniture collections. The 18th century style furniture sold at Ethan Allen recalls the days of Thomas Chippendale and George Hepplewhite, famous English furniture and cabinetmakers of their time. Colonial American furniture is inspired by English furniture, and is typically made from solid cherry wood with subtle detailing. Antique gold finishes can be found on the handles and knobs that adorn the furniture. Though not as ornate as furniture of the Baroque and Rococo periods in France, Colonial furniture has been known to have sweeping curves, and impressive shapely detailing. Below are some of my favorite pieces you can currently find at Ethan Allen stores.

A follow-up to his first fragrance, Unscripted, Patrick Dempsey 2 is a bolder, more intense fragrance.
Now, for the sweet part. Patrick says his fragrance is inspired by his wife, who is Avon's Global Creative Color Director, Jillian Dempsey (makeup artist to the stars).
The fragrance is "designed to embrace strength, commitment and intimacy between two people," Avon says.
